Henrietta Sherman
Overview
Henrietta Gabrielle Nineveh Sherman (b. April 1, 1879; d. 1929), renowned Oakland, CA heiress, sorceress, monitor lizard rancher, poker player, student of Chinese history, cat-baiter, duelist, and last High Virago of The Elevated Knights of the Order of St. Orlas. Daughter of Persephone Fenchurch Fitzculloden Sherman and Nathanial Wilberforce Sherman; orphaned at age 14 when her parents died in a tragic hot air balloon accident.
Known for popularizing the carrying of Ghost Knives in the early 20th Century.
Associates include Heinrich Graf and Julius Fentonbury.
Whipped to death in 1929 at the age of 50 in a horsewhip duel with the much younger Helena Tetropolis when Sherman's Dueling Corset was laced too tightly and she could not breathe properly. It was after this duel that ladies ceased dueling with horsewhips and from then on dueled with riding crops.
