Empire of the Anyog

The Empire of The Anyog is the sole governing power ruling the Retinou Star System. The Empire controls all five of the system's inhabited worlds and has military outposts throughout the system. It is highly technologically advanced, although Exo-Sociologists from both Sol and Shidxo have commented that this scientific prowess is not matched by an equal level of ethical and governmental progress. The common criticism is that the Empire has managed to develop technology far beyond its ability to use it responsibly with respect to its own people. Others counter that while the Empire surely engages in many oppressive policies, that this is more a matter of historical accident, rather than being due to a genuine poverty of sophisitcated ethical or political thought in the system. Proponents of this view point to the long and rich history of classical logosophical thought and its interpretations. While the supposed discrepancy between the relative levels of the Empire's ethical and technological advancement is still a subject of debate in other star systems, one prominent theory holds that it was the rise of Fractalogosophy, a result of the Anyog interpretation of Shidxo First Contact and the subsequent development of the much more "efficient" and (technologically) prolific branch of Modern Logosophy enabled the Anyog to advance their scientific and technological understanding much more rapidly than would have been possible.
