Revenge of the Serpent Emperor: Showdown at Area 51, Part II - Dawn of the Blood Sun

Revenge of the Serpent Emperor: Showdown at Area 51, Part II - Dawn of the Blood Sun is a made-for-television scifi/horror/action film starring Sjef G. Rasmussen (Killer Termites, Othello in Hell) and Jasmine St. Michelle (Lesbian Bondage Vampires, Return of the Lesbian Bondage Vampires) produced by Theta Band Pictures and the SpekFik Channel. This is the sequel to the 2008 made-for-television film Revenge of the Serpent Emperor: Showdown at Area 51, Part I - The Fountain of Fear, and concludes of the trilogy of films beginning with the 1998 film Serpent Emperor.

The movie was filmed in the Czech Republic and directed by Tomo Daikawa. The film has received generally negative reviews, with most critics citing its obviously low-budget special effects and incoherent plot, especially compared to the relatively straight forward narrative of previous two movies in the series. However, the film has earned a small but dedicated fan following due to the fact that it contains the only appearance of Jasmine St. Michelle as the lead actress of a non-pornographic film.

The film has a total run-time of 90 minutes, but a 230 minute "Director's Cut" version was mysteriously leaked onto major torrent sites after the release of the Blu-Ray disc of the film. Although the Blu-Ray disc was purported to include the "Director's Cut", in actuality it was only the original release version with 3 additional minutes of footage consisting entirely of nude scenes of Jasmine St. Michelle awkwardly edited in.

Plot

The events of the film immediate follow those of Revenge of the Serpent Emperor: Showdown at Area 51, Part I - The Fountain of Fear, and assume familiarity therewith.

The battle for control of Area 51 has ended and Jack McCord (Rasmussen), with the aid of Dr. Lexington Chaste (St. Michelle) has finally vanquished the Serpent Army resurrected using the alien space craft recovered from the Roswell, New Mexico incident. The villain of the previous film, Dr. Ishikawa, possessed by the spirit of the Serpent Emperor an ancient Mayan deity, was thrown in the Superconducing Super Collider located on the outskirts of Area 51 and was de-molecularized, seemingly taking the evil spirit of the Serpent Emperor with him.

"Director's Cut" Edition

Theta Band Pictures released the film as a double-bill Blu-Ray disc with Octoshark, another Syfy original picture also produced by the studio. Although the disc billed itself as the "Director's Cut" of both films, the only significant changes from their original theatrical versions were additional topless or nude scenes of the films' actresses. Several days after the release of the Blu-Ray disc, a 230-minute version of the film, which also billed itself as the "Director's Cut" appeared on major bit-torrent sites. The 230-minute version restored several of the sub-plots as well as scenes with minor characters which were mostly deleted from the theatrical release version, and actually made the plot at least coherent, if not sensible. Dropped plot points which were explained include:
