About KeyWand

Based on Cloverleaf, KeyWand creates consistent passwords based on a primary pass-phrase—something long enough that you can remember it but somebody who knows you can’t easily guess it—the application name or URL, and (optionally) your user name or e-mail address. You can store that password in a password manager, or you can generate the same password every time that you need to log in.

You should probably use Cloverleaf, but I (John) had too much trouble deploying it to a local server, so this project exists to have fewer moving parts. Cloverleaf uses somewhat more sophisticated methods of generating the password.

If you use a recognized application name, KeyWand will use information, supplied by Cloverleaf, to try to better match the password requirements for that site. If you use the application's URL, instead, then KeyWand will use logos provided by Logo.dev to identify that you use the same URL consistently. However, to use Logo.dev, you need to acquire an API key and supply it under the Options page.
