Wormnet
Wormnet is a modified version of the internet which boasts greatly improved transfer speeds by routing all information through the Worldwide Wormhole Complex (WWC). Despite a rocky start, Wormnet eventually gained traction and replaced the internet as the de facto global network system. Some critics refused to adopt the new technology, in fear of spatial eavesdroppers known as wormsniffers. No actual wormsniffers have ever been identified, but theories persist that every Wormnet transmission is carefully monitored by at least one of the following groups:
