Lubion Audio-Video Console

The Lulbion Audio-Visual Console, known by its acronym LAV-C, was a TV video game console designed and produced by the Lubion Corporation. It was released in 1980, amid little fanfare, and famously misguided marketing campaign. The console was actually quite advanced for its time, sporting capabilities similar to those of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), released 5 years after it. The LAV-C was launched with a small number of games, all of which were developed in-house, including the cult favorites Schmaxilla and Uberfriends: Penultimate Decline Urban. Games for the LAV-C varied wildly in theme, content, comprehensibility, and playability. Although some of this inconsistency is likely due to the infant state of the video game industry at this time (it had not yet been established by game producers that children and adolescents would be the primary focus of game titles), some of the blame (or according to some, credit) must fall on the mix of personalities and bizarre events that characterized the Lubion Corporation during its six years of existence prior to the Axon buyout.
