Hard Rain
The Hard Rain consisted of the falling to earth of the thousands of New Tomorrow low-orbit crafts launched by John Henry Parman, leading to widespread instability as the passengers of the New Tomorrow crafts were generally among the wealthiest and most powerful alive at the time of the launch. The revelation of the mass deaths of those in control of the world's financial institutions marks the beginning of the formation of the United Territories of the Soviet Bloc, lasting five years. In the former United States, this led quickly to Melissa Edison becoming Queen Roclyn along with Dan-o-Roc as her consort/King/advisor within the newly named nation of Vespica. This sequence of events within Vespica is commonly referred to as the Modern Eruption.
