A New Life
The final major fictional novel by author Borca Polit. Like his other works, A New Life deals with New Ruralist themes and views urban life through a hostile lens.
Plot
A lone man, Johnathon Grundemeyer, obsessed with the "Singularity Complex" ever since his wife died working on it, abandons his lofty role in a multi-national corporation to seek his fortune in the wilderness. He meets several unique individuals, and some join him in his quest to liberate those downtrodden by the military-industrial complex that dominates earth in the future. "Johnny G" as they call him, along with Catgirl, Moonshine, and Rubix da Hip-Hop Martial Master, track down the hidden leader of Corporation X, only to discover that he is a clone of Mr. Grundemeyer, sent from the future to stop them. They fight, but it ends when a blackhole opens and sucks them all in. This appears to undo the changes to the timestream, and America has become a locally self-sufficient rurality.
